A teacher who ghosted an ex-girlfriend of three years has had a seriously awkward run-in with his former flame - because she's now his boss. The anonymous man wrote in to website Ask A Manager seeking advice after he discovered his new boss is a woman he broke up with in a cruel way.He lived with a woman called Sylvia for two years but moved out of their shared house while she was away on holiday. After his old boss left, he discovered that their replacement was Sylvia, and is now panicking about what to do.He asked the experts on the website, who told him what he did was cruel and that he should leave the job.He said: 'Sylvia wanted to settle down but I was not ready to commit so young. We clearly had different expectations from the relationship.I did not know what to do and, well, I ghosted her.
The teacher, who works in an international school in a foreign country, then discovered that Sylvia was about to become the school director.
He says he cannot leave the job because there aren't any other suitable schools in the region where he works, meaning he'd have to leave the country to find other employment.
He said: 'I am happy and settled here so do not want to move.
To make the situation worse, the expat community here is very small and tightly knit so teachers also socialise a lot.' I was hoping you would be able to help me with a conundrum I got myself into.
I have been an expat since graduating and have been moving a lot.
